Moody Gardens is our happy place. The reservations manager Jerrica always does a fantastic job! You get full access to the resort for staying. Nowhere in Galveston offers anything like it. Fireworks for all the holidays. Friendly staff, and something for everyone to do. High recommend dining at the steak house. Thanks again Moodys!

My comments: 1. we had a great time and will come back again. 2. The men’s shower at the marina has VERY little pressure, bathrooms very nice otherwise. 3. The dock fee and discounted Moody Gardens admissions were fair 4. In my dozens of Marina stays all over the map, I never had to have my card scanned with a $50 hold for “incidentals” and also was threatened by voice message that if I didn’t submit it, I’d be “…run out of my slip”

Moody always fine , particularly the staff, great and helpful people that seem genuinely happy in their employment.

The marina offers good value compared to the other marinas in Galveston. Moody Gardens has restaurants and entertainment on site as well as easy access to town via taxi. You can call the valet and be picked up by a golf cart for transport to the hotel, or walk to it in less than 10 minutes.
I can’t comment on the restroom facilities, as we didn’t use them but they are about a 5 minute walk. Birds do seem to love the piers but the marina has good water pressure and it’s a quick wash down. The friendly staff are a bonus.
The resort is cashless, so be sure to have your credit card with you…even for a cup of coffee.

Marina is easy access from Offats channel. Our last minute RSVP via dockwa was super easy and confirmed within hours of our late night request for next day arrival (confirmation received around Midnight). We did did have some awkward interactions at the hotel checkin because someone fron the night before hadn't vacated the slip we were assigned. Which was weird because there were a dozen unreserved slips in the marina. Back to back booking the same slip seems like a mgmt mistake when every other slip is vacant. Eventually we were able to change the slip assignment instead of shuffling the 2 boats; but as I said, it was awkward. A huge perk is access to the Palm Beach resort area during the rsvp from May to August. If sailing ask for a slip on the side, away from hotel (101-107). As winds are usually out of the south you will be entering the slip head to wind and departure will push you out toward the open water and channel. Also gives you plenty of room to turn and approach if you prefer to enter a slip stern to. Bathrooms are 1 hitter heads and shower with no privacy lock and only a hook to put your stuff on while cleaning up. As noted in another review the bathrooms do need more routine housekeeping. But the showers get hot and the toilets have a strong flush. Maybe bring your own TP and shower shoes in emergencies in case housekeeping hasn't been by and it's a mess. We will definitely return as a pit stop from Kemah before we head out to the gulf.

We always enjoy our stay at Moody, they do need to take better care of the bathrooms. The marina bathrooms are in fairly bad shape.

The dock is well maintained. There is cart service to the hotel.
Just know that there is no launch ramp. You must put in your boat at a public ramp and drive to the dock.

You get access to all the Resort amenities for a couple bucks a foot, can't beat it. Bring a water hose to wash the seagull crap off the docks seems to be a feature.

Good stay at Marina. Restrooms are clean but only one shower. Will stay there again.
Bit of a walk to check in. Can get bellhop to bring you back. Apart from water and electricity no other services. Hotel did give free access to pool, water park and discount to other amenities.

really good and I would give 5* but the shore power plug needs to be repaired - it was not affixed into the box and dandling out so I had to be really careful to connect and disconnect without shocking or grounding.

First let me say we loved our trip and though the Marina was very nice. The slips are well maintained, in fact it appeared they had just re-decked everything. The grounds are impeccable. Even though it's a little bit of a walk to the attractions, the over all convenience is nice. The staff were friendly and very nice. So why the 3 star rating? The first day we were there I wanted to go take a shower before dinner so I walked up to the bathroom facilities. I turned on the shower and waited and waited and waited for the hot water which never came. I toughed it out and took a cold shower. We later mentioned it to the front desk and they were very apologetic and said they would mention it to maintenance. 24 hours later I went back for a 2nd shower and still no hot water. We own a 38' sailboat and paid $200 for the two nights which I still thought was a decent value for the Labor Weekend, but I would think hot showers would be part of the deal. Hopefully next time we go back they will have addressed the showers but just in case, I'll remember to bring my hose so I can at least take them on my boat. :)

Stayed at the marina and used shore power and water. Utilized the fitness center/spa area showers. Enjoyed eating at the Cafe and the steakhouse. We found it very easy to be at Moody Gardens.

Moody is severly understaffed right now. Long waits on transportation, ran out of towels, pool area was dirty and cluttered. Not up to their normal standards. My guest just decided to stay on the boat and did nothing at Moody Gardens.

There was a 22 mph prevailing wind and they put us on the south side of the marina instead of on the north side so that we could back into the wind when docking. There were only 3 boats there that night and 2 of us were on the south side. It looked like a 3 ring circus there. Whoever does the booking should know things like this. This was our first time staying there.
