We grabbed a mooring ball. The launch tender came and got us. It is free as part of the mooring fee. They would drop us downtown or at the boat yard. Great service. Didn't use the facilities but new restrooms with showers. Would stop again.

We were here for three weeks prepping for and starting a summer trip. What an absolutely incredible place. It’s a beautiful harbor. All of the staff we interacted with were kind, knowledgeable, and went out of their way to help us and our young crew. We were here early enough in the season that we saw mooring balls being put in and inspected, and all were very well maintained. A+ I will stay here again if I get the opportunity.

Very friendly staff. LAUNCH INCLUDED in mooring fee. They provided good conversation and some tips about things to do in town and how to solve my laundry problem.
I had some south winds during my stay but in the big boat guest mooring way on the west side of the harbor it was well protected!

There are no strangers, only friends you haven’t met yet. This is the motto of our beloved anchorage. They are true to this motto. We can’t say enough about how wonderful the people at MBY are to everyone. Three launches run during high season all the drivers are great. They are in the process of rebuilding their facilities after a devastating fire. They are a full service yard with many talented folks working there.

Great stay on mooring. Launch is excellent. MBY may want to update Dockwa and website that due to prior fire, they do not have available restrooms, showers and ship store. Thank you.

I have loved Mattapoisett Boatyard ever since I was a child so it is not surprising that I like it there now. The boatyard does good work (rebuilding now), the launch service is speedy and reliable, and the town is lovely. Be advised: Mattapoisett Harbor, especially the north shore by the boatyard is NOT a calm anchorage in anything from a SW to E wind. It isn't awful, but overnights can be a "bouncy" affair. That said, the ESE corner (there are moorings from another provider there) is the most protected part of the harbor. However, it is a long way from the launch dock and the launch is not free to those moorings.
I have always known that a certain amount of "rock and roll" was part of the Mattapoisett experience. It dims but does not extinguish the appeal of the accommodations, the service, the town, and the easy entrance and exit to the harbor.

An excellent mooring field with quick access to Buzzards Bay; plenty of depth for our 8-foot (2.4 m) draft; lots of room between moorings; efficient launch service; ice at the launch dock; no showers or laundry at this time, but should be available once the new building is completed

About Mattapoisett Boatyard
Full service boatyard in the heart of Buzzards Bay. We are family owned and operated since 1962. We service all makes and models of engines including Yanmar, Westerbeke, Volvo, Cummins, Caterpillar, Universal, Beta and Detroit. We also handle Yamaha, Suzuki, Evinrude, Nissan, Tohatsu outboards. We handle all types of sail and power vessels from daysailers to 50' yachts. We specialize in varnish, fiberglass repairs, all aspects of detailing, cleaning, restoration, repowering. We are fully staffed to handle all aspects of rigging, mechanical repairs and maintenance, outboards, inboards. No job is too small. We are known for our quick repairs during the mid-season so you can get back on the water quickly knowing the job is done right!
Mattapoisett Harbor is centrally located on Buzzards Bay, approx. 10 miles across to Woods Hole (an easy beam reach), away from cape Cod so no traffic. We have seasonal mooring rentals with unlimited launch service as well as many guest moorings for an overnight stay or longer. We haul and store about 250 sail and power vessels for the off-season.
