We loved the location, 100 yards from Chat and Chill. Most people anchor out. We were lazy and grabbed a mooring ball.

Had a great time. We also had strong winds and mooring was fine.

It's a awesome location. But you don't get anything with the ball no amenities. We will anchor going forward. 🙂

The mooring was fine. This was our first encounter with Dockwa and the reservation system could use a little help. Our first month on the mooring, we never received any confirmation that the mooring we grabbed to wait while we registered was subsequently assigned to us. That was a little unsettling. In the end, it didn't cause any problems, but a little more thorough correspondence would have been helpful. On the other hand, the Dockwa rep was very helpful extending our stay on that mooring - and obviously knew which mooring it was - and the correspondence concerning the extension was very thorough. And for that I am very thankful.

Very fast response time. Requested a ball about 1:15 in the afternoon. We had a ball assignment within about 15 minutes. 😁

Although the assigned mooring was occupied by an overstaying the location is nice and plenty of space between the moorings. Easy dinghy ride to GEORGE TOWN dinghy dock. I would stay here again.

GBE #4, right across from Chat’n’Chill. Worried about it being loud, but they stop serving at 1800 or 1900, and it was quiet. Usual George Town traffic , but again, quiet at night.

Easy and the staff were responsive!

The people at Elizabeth Harbour Moorings were quick to respond, worked with my requests/changes and were very flexible! It was a little disappointing that we couldn’t get anyone to answer the phone, but I figured they were busy. They were prompt and professional through texting. We didn’t have any issues and would stay with them again!

Very nice stay at our mooring around the Chat and Chill. We thought it would be noisy but it was not. Great protection and peace of mind from the 20-30 kt east winds we had.

The mooring ball is poorly positioned; there is too much movement due to boats passing alongside the sailboats. There should be a dedicated boat way.

Easy reservation process and responsive. We enjoyed our stay and felt comfortable on the mooring in strong winds during Regatta week.

Great secure mooring for our high windage Meridian 441 sedan bridge. They were always quick to reply to any questions I had and were able to accommodate an early arrival and an early departure. Highly recommend staying here.

It’s so much quieter down by Sand Dollar as compared to in front of Chat n Chill! No speeding water taxis and dinghies making wakes! I’m glad I asked for the beach area! Thank you!

Lots to do in the area. Being on a ball makes wind shifts easy to take.

by Michael B. - Verified user on Feb 21, 2026
Choppier than expected. High speed dingy traffic by folks who ignore no wake zones in mooring fields.

Very accommodating. We had some changes but they were very helpful

Mooring #3 is next to the main launch service corridor but is also near Chat and Chill. Calm mooring otherwise.

Very easy to reserve, good mooring ball, nice bay. Close for provisioning. A little of wakes because of water taxis, some noise coming from a generator on the beach but shuts down at 5h00 pm.

About Elizabeth Harbour Moorings

Welcome to Elizabeth Harbour! The Elizabeth Harbour Conservation Partnership (EHCP) is a registered Bahamian non-profit organization governed by a Board of Directors. The mission of the EHCP is to guide the ecologically sustainable development of the coastal zone and waters of Elizabeth Harbour with the aim of enhancing tourism, fisheries, and recreational use through stakeholder education and participation and collaborative management of harbour facilities for the benefit of present and future generations.

The EHCP manages two mooring fields off of the east end of Stocking Island. Both mooring fields are in protected waters in the lee of Stocking Island in deep water, and are approximately a 10-15 minute dinghy or water taxi ride to George Town.

If you’re looking to be in the middle of the action, the Gaviota Bay East (GBE) mooring field is the place to be. Located adjacent to several beach bars and restaurants, you will only be a short dinghy ride to fun! The GBE mooring field has 21 moorings that can accommodate up to 60 ft / 18 m vessels.

If you’re looking for a quieter setting close to nature trails and snorkeling, the Sand Dollar Beach (SDB) mooring field offers beautiful scenery adjacent to Moriah Harbour Cay National Park, but is still within a 5 minute dinghy ride to beachside food and drink. The SDB mooring field has 43 moorings that can accommodate up to 60 ft / 18 m vessels.

Moorings are by reservation only, and can be reserved for daily, weekly, and monthly stays online. We will do our best to accommodate special requests. Currently, there are no first-come, first serve moorings available. Mooring fees must be paid in full once the reservation is confirmed. Check out before 12pm. Check in after 2pm. Reservation requests will be confirmed on the same day if made by 1pm. No wet storage available.

Please refer to our website for mooring field guidelines and tie-up instructions, and additional information. Terms and conditions apply.
