We had a fantastic stay here in Wareham/Onset. It is a beautiful place to be stuck when the wind is bad. 2 days ended up being 4. We were able to bike around, pick up groceries and eat at some great restaurants. A very well.protected harbour and the moorings were perfect for the high winds we experienced. We'll be back.

Town was cute, and Harbormaster was helpful. It was quiet while we were there, but I’m sure it gets busy in season. Good protection from south winds.

September 2025. Well maintained mooring. Blowing over 20 for much of the night. Onset is a charming town. We stayed after Labor Day so that maybe why we couldn’t get a response from the launch.

Nice moorings in a scenic, well-protected harbor. Great dinghy dock. Easy access to some restaurants, beaches and town park. Perfect stop before/after canal.

The mooring we were assigned to was too close to the harbormaster's barge and a boat that was tied behind it. When the wind changed, the boat behind the barge was almost touching our mooring, and we were riding up on our mooring because of maybe the tide. I spent from 5:30am to about 6:15am watching the barge and boat to make sure it didn't hit ours. It came very close, I have pictures. The boat behind the barge should have been somewhere else. It didn't fit.

Balls were conveniently located. Harbormaster answered right away on the radio with ball assignment. It was easy in and out. The town is very cute and quaint. Would definitely return.

It was fine. Onset is such a beautiful place! The price is a bit steep for a place with no showers available. And the town needs more bathrooms in general

Thank you and we apologize. Our facilities were built in 1987 and we are in the process of working update an adjoining facility for better accommodations! There two other facilities that are on Dockwa that offer additional amenities also if needed for options (Fuel, Restrooms, shower) should you pass through again. About Town of Wareham Harbormaster - Onset Harbor Transient Moorings
Welcome to Onset Harbor and the Victorian seaside community that overlooks it. Vessel fuel, Yacht Club, full service marinas, Dining, groceries, laundry and the post office are all within walking distance of the Onset Village Town Pier and within Onset Harbor.
The Wareham Harbormaster is responsible for the Towns transient moorings that can welcome vessels up to 50’ and 7’ draft. Complimentary launch service is available to vessels staying on the towns transient moorings when the launch is in operation. There is also a public pier and dock available for vessels to pull in as well as a dinghy dock.
The fixed pier bulkhead is available to vessels from 50’ to 110’ and can accommodate vessels with up to 9’ draft. Vessels are not to be left unattended for extended periods of time.
