We always like staying at the Tugboat, but when we arrived at 5 pm, we had
major difficulty getting any power and no one to help us. So we moved our boat to another dock location and "VIOLA" it worked. Just a little frustrating after
boating all day to run into this difficulty. We'll be back, though.

After tying to a mooring and finding ourselves too close to a lobster buoy, we asked for guidance on a better location. The dockmaster came out in a skiff and pointed out multiple other options. There are so many mooring balls in Boothbay Harbor it was very difficult to understand whose was whose. We greatly appreciated the help.
2nd visit: great location and easy and quick to get info from the dockmaster.

We always visit Boothbay when cruising Maine and we always stay on a mooring at Tugboat. The inside mooring field is "cozy" which is part of the charm. Yes the balls are kind of close but people need to be honest about their boat lengths. If you are longer than about 42' on deck it can get very tight. If there is a breeze and all boats are pointing the same direction then no issues. When calm and different types of boats start misbehaving, then it can get interesting. No bridles, keep the pendant short, keep dinghy alongsides.

We come back to the Tug Boat every season at least twice. It's always clean and comfy. Love the roof top bar and all the amenities. Excellent place to stay There's always someone ready for lines and help to dock your boat.

Tug Boat Inn is one of favorite places to visit. We enjoy the location that is down town and watching the boats passing by. This year the harbor changes its’ maine channel through the harbor which has changed the location of the moorings. They need to work on better placement of the moorings, some have a lot of space and some are too close. We encountered our boat hitting another boat on the mooring next to us. There were three of us concerned about the spacing and it proved to be an issue. In the past there has never been an issue in the 25 years I have been going there. There also confusion on the reservations where they were overbooked. We love the Tugboat Inn, the location, roof top bar, and the lounge which has great music. We Love Tugboat Inn and I am sure they will work out the issues with their moorings.

Had a mooring, good help finding it and good responsiveness on the radio (9). Good solid place. Felt local and real. Will return.

The location is amazing - mooring in the middle of the harbor and listening to some live music weaving its way over the water to us while the sun set was to dream for! What a lively, lovely, quintessential Maine harbor town. Thank you for offering the moorings, Tugboat Inn!

Always a pleasant experience!

Excellent because the weather was great, wind was calm. They should be upfront with owners of large boats that moorings for certain length vessels are not in the front of their marina, but over in the outer harbor with less protection from inclement conditions.

The morning field is too tight to allow for proper swinging. A 43 foot three story power boat picked up the morning next to me and added a 16 foot bridle. The attendant told him they couldn’t use a bridal, but they still wasn’t enough swinging room. So I moved to another morning. That also was a tight spot, and to top it off three boats around me ran generators all night long, turning them off when they got up in the morning at 7 AM, so they couldn’t hear them. But everybody else around them had to listen to them all night long. Not a very restful night in terms of noise and concerns of bumping into other boats.

Great location, right in town. Good dockhand. Restaurant on site. Docks are a bit dated, but functional. Didn’t use any facilities. Would return in the future.

Super convenient mooring location to town. Poor communication regarding mooring assignment and identification. Tugboat could prepare their staff better. The staff did the best they could.

Ease to mooring access, excellent human exchange, very nice surroundings.

We used a mooring. They are difficult to find and no late afternoon assistance was available. The moorings of other marinas are far more visible and identifiable.

Very convenient location. We were assigned mooring 22, but discovered a boat on it when we arrived. The staff were very helpful in finding us an open mooring, but did say the moorings end up kind of first come first served.

Marina and docks are a bit tired. Dockhand helped with lines, but did not help with electric until after we plugged it all in and had no power. Had to find him to ask for help. Breakers for our electric were not on the same post and not in an obvious spot. Heads were dated and seemed clean although it is unusual to charge for shower water, using quarters for time. Expensive laundry (did not use). Nice location close to town and restaurants. After our arrival, we did not see any staff at all. Marina is open to anyone walking down, did not appear to have security. This marina is priced similarly to others in Boothbay Harbor who do not charge for showers and have other amenities. I would stay elsewhere next time I visit Boothbay Harbor.
