Greetings to the Nyack Boat Club from MV Patience. We had the pleasure of an overnight mooring stay back in the fall. Apologies for late review! On the return leg of our Erie Canal adventure, we had hoped our travels would align with an overnight in Nyack and ultimately worked out perfectly. Although after the "season" and relatively quiet, we were made to feel welcome with clear communication regarding accommodations, mooring and launch service by the Commodore himself. Although most like a dock slip, NBC made our mooring work quite well with availability of free launch service that worked perfectly with our schedule. I must note that my last visit to the NBC had been as a 5-6 year old (70 now!) when my sister and I sailed a Lightening Class sailboat (#8228) with our Dad out on the Hudson. Our Grandfather, a past Commodore , and our Grandmother being represented by a memorial trophy to this day. That being said, I must say that they would be proud to see what the Club has become, while retaining a real "peoples club" feel. As transients, we were as welcome as club members could be, having the run of the place. Great showers below and quaint rockers on the grand porch above. Getting into town was but a few block walk into a variety of dining and provisioning options.
Many thanks to the Commodore and good folks at NBC, we hope to drop in again next year! MV Patience

We arrived with 19 knots of wind and opposing current. Drew, the launch operator was very skilled and helpful. The next morning the launch operator failed to show up, but again, Drew came to our assistance after hearing us attempt to call the launch. He came back and worked a 12 hour day safely getting us to/from our boat. The town is fun and within easy walking distance. The guest moorings were very good and had pick up sticks.

Stayed here twice at beginning and end of Triangle loop.Friendliest place I’ve ever been! Great boat club and many nice restaurants in a short walk. Definitely worth a stop. Hudson does get rolly with bad wind/current conditions..

A nice location in a quaint town with plenty of restaurants, shops and grocery store. The staff has been outstanding in accommodating us. It was east to get to NYC for a day trip from this location. We would happily stay again.

Launch service was great since we were on a far mooring. Showers were good although the drains seemed plugged or very slow. Easy departure in the morning.

Our members are welcoming to transient boaters. Walking distance to the quaint town of Nyack. Good restaurants and boutique stores there. Can also have food delivered and eat on our patio overlooking the Hudson River. Mooring fee is very reasonable. Check launch schedule. If not in service, you can bring a dinghy to our dinghy dock (on north side of pier). Hope to see you at our Club soon.

A beautiful location near the Tappen Zee bridge and NJ cliffs. They have a classic old club house with wood floors, trophies, comfortable furnishings and nice restrooms and showers. The launch wasn’t going all the time but 4 to 10 week days worked for us. the information online and thru the emails was very helpful. They responded promptly to questions. Members were friendly and helpful. there are lots of nice restaurants, markets and walking places nearby. We’ll be back. The only negative was the mooring field is large and subject to winds and wakes, making the place a little rough.
About Nyack Boat Club
The Nyack Boat Club was formed in 1909 by a group of boating enthusiasts to support recreational boating on the majestic Hudson. Set on a beautiful 2 1/2 acre site, the club is equidistant between the Tappan Zee Bridge and lovely Hook Mountain, on the west shore of the river. The Club facilities are a short walk from the heart of the Village of Nyack with a wide variety of shops, restaurants, and other amusements. Launch Service available to transients. See NBC Launch Schedule at www.nyackboatclub.org. Note, we generally limit transient moorage to five consecutive days.
