Beacon Marina

Nice laid back marina in a well protected cove off of the Chesapeake in the Solomons area. The marina also has a Quality Inn and a great restaurant/bar on the property! I've used Beacon multiple times and I highly recommend it, AND it's much less expensive than the other marinas in the area.

The restrooms need to be updated. At the least they should be kept clean and well stocked. They are used by the hotel pool guests as well as the marina guests. The hotel staff points to the Marina staff and the restrooms get neglected.

Beacon Marina was a great place to dock our boat for four years, meet new fiends, and build lasting memories. John was a gracious harbor master and was very attentive to the needs of slip holders and me from day one. This was our first experience at a marina since our previous boats were trailered. We are off to a good start. While the amenities are a bit limited, it was all we needed for wonderful weekend stays and family gatherings. Thanks Beacon for all you did!

Easy to book. Friendly neighbors and nice dock. Bathrooms could be cleaner but pool was nice.

Affordable and accommodating. You can walk to everything-grocery, West Marine and cute shops and eateries on Solomon’s Island. We are out exploring and this area is well worth the stop to check it out.

Nice marina. Close to all including a hotel , 711, west marine and gas..

The accommodations are pretty mediocre. Power and water were available, though an 50amp splitter cable is your best option. Staff were friendly and helpful, though I’m not sure where the marina office actually was. We enjoyed our brief stay. We went to see a concert at the Calvert Marine Museum, which boarders the marina’s parking lot., making it a very short walk to the venue. There is a smallish pool that looked well maintained though we didn’t use it and there is a restaurant, Anglers, at the end of “D” dock, where we were docked, that serves breakfast Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Our food was good, though service was pretty slow. Regardless, we enjoyed our breakfast. Our only complaint is the bathhouses. Shit show doesn’t begin to describe them. The doors to the ladies shower don’t lock, neither does the door to the men’s toilet. One shower pan on the men’s side was rotted out and the inside of the door to the toilet stall clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a good while. It even looked like it had feces smeared on the lower part of the stall door. We appreciated the location. However, the ownership of the marina is missing the point if they don’t think the bathhouse is an important feature of the accommodations.

The facility needs a complete face-lift. Bathrooms below average, they don't sell ice. Joe, who was the gentleman on duty when we arrived was very helpful. The Marina is conveniently located to the museum.

Restroom maintenance has greatly improved.

Stayed two nights. Never saw a single employee or dock hand. Arrived and departed alone. No Wi-Fi. Bathrooms were not usable. But it was quiet and calm and a close walk to what we needed.

We had an excellent overnight stay at Beacon Marine after the 2024 Fall Race to Solomon's Island. The marina is well maintained and very affordable with very easy access to Back Creek. It has an adjoining Quality Inn where you can stay if you want to get off the boat, which we did after a 7 hour race. It also has the Angler's Inn. No fine dining, but good bar food and a very good breakfast - great Solomon's vibe.

Horrible. When we got to Beacon marina, there was no one to tell us where to dock our boat. We even called the hotel, and they were no help. We ended up tying up at an adjacent marina. Will never use Beacon again, and they should refund our dock fee.

They are working hard to make improvements. New decking on docks, electrical pylons, etc. John the dockmaster is great. On a summer weekend they had live music at the onsite bar, and the restaurant was even open for breakfast. Short walk to West Marine and a booze store.

Nice marina. Took a while to get my assigned slip once we arrived and it turned out there was a boat in it. We had to pick another slip as no one from the marina was there, answered their texts or messages.

A bit noisy with all the fishing charters early in the am. Bathroom and shower dirty and old. Pool area could of been better maintained all pool umbrellas were broken.

Walking distance to everything in town… Pool, Hotel and Restaurant with live entertainment and waterfront views. Great price and location!
