We enjoyed our stay @ Miramar Yacht Club. Plenty of mooring balls and protection from wind and waves. The launch service is exceptional! They always answered the call and were there within minutes to take you to and from the dock. There is also a dinghy dock if you want to take your own dinghy. The marina is gated but the gate was being worked on so the owner gave us a key to the whole place so we could get in and out after hours. They gave us a nice goodie bag with some swag and a couple of beers to welcome us! There are BBQ grills and tables and chairs for guests use. The only reason for 4 stars is there is no pump out and no laundry. Not a deal breaker but harder for Loopers. We would stay here again.

This is our third time here and it’s still the same friendly people that make you feel part of the family. Great staff and very helpfull. Had a great time, will be back on our way south.

This is the friendliest and most down-to-earth yacht club on the US East Coast! The moorings are in a very protected harbor, and the members are warm and welcoming. Highly recommended!

Best place to moor your boat and visit NYC. It’s superconvenient as there is the subway nearby and there are also plenty of shops and restaurants available locally for when you don’t feel like going into town. Very safe area and well protected. Both Miramar and SBYC have great moorings available and people have all been very friendly and welcoming. There is a launch service but we have been using our own dinghy. We will definitely be back one day !

We are thankful for the opportunity of having a mooring ball available for our boat and the use of the facilities at the Miramar Yacht Club. Josh was such a nice person and easy to communicate with. We didn’t have much of an opportunity to talk to other members but judging by the few people we came in contact with during the short time we were there everyone is vey nice. We will return. Great moorings, well protected from wind and weather. Welcoming Commodore and members. Launch is run jointly by Sheepshead Bay YC and Miramar. No fuel or pump out. Short walk to lots of restaurants and provisions.

Nice people. Couldn't find the ball assigned to us, but they came out to find us a ball and helped us tie up due to the pendant on the ball assigned. Calm location though a bit noisy due to restaurant nearby

Super friendly and a great stop if you want to visit Manhattan. No problem to get water on the dock and then back on the mooring. Shuttle if you don't have a dingy.

Launch guided me to my mooring. Friendly people on the dock. Tons of eating options nearby, and the neighborhood felt safe after dark. Best boating value in the NY City area by far!

Great harbor. Dave the manager, the folks we met and the Launch captains were very helpful and friendly. Location is right in the middle of restaurants, groceries and beverage shops. Perfect stop before going offshore around NJ and beyond.

Not enough stars to rate this Club!!
We picked up a ball on short notice (we were too big for the docks) and could not have been more pleased with the warm reception from the Club. The commodore himself, along with two other members, stopped their task of moving a boat through the yard and met us on the dock to help tie up for check in. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful; we felt like family and kinda hated to leave so we stayed an extra night. There is launch service included, which runs on demand between the mooring field and the docks. Showers are very clean; sailors lounge is roomy & comfortably furnished. Nothing fancy here but everything you need. Only disadvantage is that the subway station is about a mile away. Not a problem for us since we have bikes and there’s a well defined bike lane plus we like to walk the neighborhoods. I mention this as it may be an issue for those w mobility concerns. Looking forward to returning in the fall.

This place is a perfect stop while visiting or passing through NYC. The yacht club members are lovely and welcoming. Showers are decent. The little grocery store right across the street is surprisingly well-equipped. It’s a reasonable walk to the Sheepshead Bay train station to take the Q directly to Time Square. And you can’t beat the price! This is definitely our place going forward, whenever we take our boat through New York.

We were formed to promote sailing and other forms of boating and we do so with gusto. Miramar Members are an eclectic bunch. We come from various places in New York City and the metropolitan New York area. We are from varied backgrounds and occupations. Most of us are sail boaters, some are power boaters. We are racers, day sailors and cruisers; and some of us are paddlers of various persuasions. We are fisherman and we are “feasters” – we love to barbecue, eat, and a good party.
Sun sparkling on the waves, a breeze in your sails, and an ocean full of fish ready to bite. Miramar Yacht Club specializes in facilitating these kinds of perfect days on the water, for which the club maintains a fleet of well maintained sail boats perfect for a range of sailors, from experienced to beginner. Once you return to the dock, spend a few hours relaxing by the pool or reading a book in the shade.
